A court here on Friday placed two members of banned militant outfit ‘Ansarullah Bangla Team’ on a 5-day remand each in connection with the murder of blogger Niladri Chattopadhyay Niloy.
Those remanded are Kawsar Hossain Khan and Kamal Hossain Sardar.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Emdadul Haque passed the order when inspector of Detective Branch (DB) of police Mahbubur Rahman produced them before the court seeking a 10-day remand for each.
Earlier on Thursday, detectives arrested the two suspected members of banned militant outfit ‘Ansarullah Bangla Team’ from the city’s Mirpur and Shyampur areas.
They are also charge-sheeted accused in an attempted murder case filed in connection with an attack on another blogger Asif Mohiuddin two years ago. On August 7, Niloy was hacked to death by unidentified assailants inside his fourth-floor flat at North Goran in the city. He was the fourth Bangladeshi blogger killed so far this year.
