In Rangpur district, 240,000 doses of Coronavirus vaccines have arrived in the first phase. The vaccination program will start from February 8 through 13 booths in the district.
The freezer van of the vaccinated Beximco Pharmaceuticals arrived at the District Civil Surgeon’s Office around 6 a.m. on Sunday (January 31). At that time, the health department staff including the civil surgeon unloaded 16 cartons of ticker from the van and stored it in the EPR store.
District Civil Surgeon. Hiramba Kumar Roy said 18 cartons of ticker had arrived in Rangpur since being sent in a Dhaka freezer van.
These vaccines are stored in the ILR fridge of the EPI store by maintaining the cold chain. Each carton contains one thousand 200 vials. There are 10 doses in each vial.In the first phase in Rangpur, the vaccination will start from February 8 through seven booths in six upazilas and six booths of the city corporation.
The vaccinations will be given at Rangpur Medical College Hospital and health complexes in the upazilas. These vaccines will be given in regular doses according to the rules. He also said that the health workers engaged in vaccination are being trained. He further said that they received 20,400 vials and it can be given to 2 lakh 40 people.Enrolled on a priority basis will have to register online to get the vaccine. Vaccines cannot be taken without registration.
These vaccines will be given to health workers, police, freedom fighters and administration officials and 60 people on priority basis. At the time, the Deputy Civil Surgeon. According to his calculations, 8 lakh 46 thousand dose vaccines are being provided in the first phase of this department.
