2, 327 flood-hit families get iron sheets in Chandpur

 A total of 134 bundles of corrugated iron sheet and Taka four lakh two thousand were distributed among 67 homeless and flood-hit families in Sadar upazila of the district on Wednesday.
Upazila administration arranged a programme at Upazila Parishad Auditorium where Dipu Moni, joint secretary of Awami League (AL), was present as the chief guest and distributed the sheet and cheques.
Each of the families got two bundles of corrugated iron sheet and Taka 6000 in cheque.
Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Kanij Fatema, concerned Union Parishad chairmen and upazila Awami League leaders were present, among others, on the occasion.
Sylhet Correspondent says: Relief materials were distributed among 260 flood-hit people of Tahirpur upazila of the Sunamganj district Tuesday.
Each people got 5-kg rice, 2-kg potato, one kg onion and one kg salt.
Entire cost of the relief materials was provided from Prantik Chatro Sangshed own fund.
During the relief distribution, the Leaders organization urged the well-off people of the society, businessmen and different organizations to stand beside the natural disaster like flood hit people of the country.

BSS from Rajshahi adds: Over 2,000 flood-affected slum households received relief materials in the city.
Fazley Hossain Badsha, MP, distributed 10 kilograms of rice to each family in Bulanpur, Shreerampur, Panchabati, Talaimary and Shayampur areas yesterday.
Speaking on the occasion, the lawmaker assured that income-generation programmes would be taken so that the flood-affected families can recoup their losses.
“We will arrange need-based rehabilitation scheme for the affected people to lessen their sufferings,” he said.
Water Development Board would take necessary steps before the next monsoon to check flood in the areas, he added.
