1st Test against SA BD to face daunting task

Bangladesh will face a daunting task against South Africa as the Proteas scored 204 runs in their second innings on the fourth day of the first Test at Kingsmead in Durban on Sunday.
Sent into bat first, South Africa piled up a massive total of 367 in their first innings on the second day (Friday).
In reply, Bangladesh made a fighting total of 298 in the first innings thanks to Mahmudul Hasan Joy, who notched up a marvelous 137 on the third day (Saturday).
Later, Bangladesh lost three wickets for 11 runs.
Bangladesh need 263 runs to win with seven wickets in the hand.
Opener Shadman Islam (0) was caught at the slip by Keegan Petersen off Simon Harmer when Bangladesh’s score was just four.
After Shadman’s dismissal, in-form Mahmudul Hasan Joy (4) was bowled out by Keshav Maharaj when Bangladesh’s total was six for the loss of two wickets.
Then, Second-down Mominul Haque (2) was trapped leg before wicket by Keshav Maharaj when the tourists’ score was 11 for the loss of three wickets.
Najmul Hossain Shanto remained unbeaten with five runs, while Mushfiqur Rahim remained unbeaten with naught.
Keshav Maharaj bagged two wickets at the cost of seven runs, while Simon Harmer took one wicket for four runs.
South Africa resumed their second innings with the overnight score of 6 for the loss of none.
Openers Dean Elgar and Sarel Erwee resumed their second innings with the over-night score of three runs each.
Elgar and Sarel put on together 48 runs before Ebadot Hossain trapped leg before wicket Sarel for just eight runs.
After Sarel’s dismissal, Elgar and Keegan Petersen contributed together 68 runs before Elgar was trapped leg before wicket by Taskin Ahmed when the hosts’ score was 116 for the loss of two wickets.
Elgar notched up a fine 64. His 102-ball innings saw seven fours.
One-down Keegan Petersen (36) was caught at the short-leg by Mahmudul Hasan off Mehidy Hasan Miraz when the home side’s score was 126 for the loss of three wickets.
After Petersen’s dismissal, Temba Bavuma (4) was caught at the slip by Yasir Ali off Ebadot Hossain when the Proteas’ score was 126 for the loss four wickets.
After dismissal of Bavuma, Ryan Rickelton was the only batter of South Africa who fought back against the tight and controlled bowling attack of Bangladeshi bowlers.
Rickelton remained unbeaten with 39. He hit four fours in his 89-ball innings.
Ebadot Hossain and Mehidy Hasan Miraz grabbed three wickets each instead of 40 and 85 runs respectively.
Taskin Ahmed bagged two wickets at the cost of 24 runs.
