The country’s first Physiology Olympiad was held at Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) in Chittagong recently
Department of Physiology, Biochemistry and Pharmacology organized the daylong program, “Physiology Olympiad and Biochemistry Structure Exhibition”, that included exams, discussion, biochemistry structure exhibition and awarding ceremony with The Daily Star as the media partner.
Vice-Chancellor Mahfuzul Bari said the Olympiad was held to create interest in physiology among science-enthusiast students and CVASU plans to involve other medical colleges and universities in future events. A total of 120 students from different departments participated. Of them, 10 students were adjudged winners.
Head of the department Dr AKM Saifuddin presided over the program while Prof Paritosh Kumar Biswas, Dean of Food Science and Technology Faculty; Prof Md. Kabirul Islam, Dean of Veterinary Medicine Faculty; Prof Nurul Absar, Dean of Fisheries Faculty; and Abu Naser, deputy general manager of Janata Bank, also spoke.
