The three-day long first phase of the Biswa Ijtema will begin on January 13 on the bank of the Turag River at Tongi of Gazipur.
The Biswa Tablig Jammat is organising the 52nd Biswa Ijtema this year.
“All preparations ahead of the Biswa Ijtema are going on in full swing. About 70 per cent of the preparations had already been completed by Thursday evening,” said Moulana M Gias Uddin, a spokesman of the Ijtema preparation committee.
The remaining works including power, gas and water arrangement, toilets and bathrooms construction and loudspeaker installation in the Ijtema ground would be completed next week, he added.
The first phase of the Biswa Ijtema will begin on January 13 and conclude on January 15. After a four-day interval, the second phase will begin from January 20 and end on January 22.
The members of the Biswa Tablig Jamaat from the districts of Gazipur, Manikganj, Mymensingh, Tangail, Munshigonj, Gopalganj, Kishoreganj, Rangpur, Syedpur, Rajbari, Shariatpur, Dinajpur, Joypurhat, Lalmonirhat, Bandarban, Rangamati, Khagrachari, Chandpur, B-Baria, Noakhali, Hobiganj, Moulvibazar, Barisal, Naogaon, Pabna, Kushtia, Chapainawabganj, Meherpur, Satkhira, Jessore and Bagerhat will participate in the first phase of the Ijtema.
