The 1st Walton Open Tennis competition inaugurated on Saturday at national tennis court complex at Ramna in the city.State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam MP who is also the president of Bangladesh Tennis Federation (BTF) formally inaugurated the meet as the chief guest. In the competition, the events will be held in men’s singles and doubles, women’s singles, boys singles under-18 years, girls singles under-18 years, boys singles under-12 years, girls singles under-12 years, boys singles under-10 years, girls’ singles under-10 years, boys’ singles under-8 years and girls singles under-8 years.Cash prize of Taka 1,48,000.00 will be given to winners of men’s and women’s events in the six-day competition, sponsored by Walton and organised by BTF. The final of the competition is slated on September 8.
