Bangladesh Police, Bangladesh Ansar, Eden Women’s College and Viqarunessa Noon College moved into the semifinals of the Ist National Women’s Baseball Championship after winning their respective quarterfinals matches held on Sunday at Sultana Kamal Women’s Sports Complex in Dhanmondi.
In the first quarterfinals, Bangladesh Police beat Dhaka Zilla by 11-0, in the second quarterfinals, Bangladesh Ansar outplayed Sirajganj Shikkha Prothisthan by 11-0.
In the third quarterfinals, Eden Women’s College beat Commerce College by 8-0 while in the last quarterfinals Viqarunessa Noon College won against Solaiman Sporting Club by 6-2 margin.
A total of eight teams including Bangladesh Police, Bangladesh Ansar, and Dhaka District Sports Associations are competing in the three-day meet, organised by Bangladesh Baseball-Softball Association.
The semi-finals will be held on today (March 13) while the final of the competition is slated on Tuesday (March 14).
