1st Int`l Mime Fest at DU from tomorrow

For the first time Dhaka University Mime Action (DUMA) is going to arrange three-day “1st International Mime Festival-2017” at Dhaka University from Monday.
Different Mime troupes from Egypt, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will stage Mime-drama in the festival.

(Gazipur), Gentleman Patomime (Dhaka), Bengal Theater (Dhaka), Jahangirnagar Theater, Mime Art (Dhaka), Silent Theater (Chittagong), Provatferi (CUET), North-South University Mime Society, Jagannath University Mime Society and Mime Action Mymensingh will participate, among other domestic troupes.
Dhan Bahadur Oli, Charge d’ Affairs of Nepal to Bangladesh will inaugurate the festival, while DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique will be present as the chief guest.
Workshop, seminar, and poster exhibition on Mime and Mime contest among students of schools and colleges will be held during the festival. Members of Parliament, Cultural Personalities and Educationists will remain present every day’s function.
The performance of the Mime troupes will be presented at the TSC auditorium, while street show will be held on the campus premises, including Shaheed Minar area, Curzon Hall, Arts Faculty and Shahbagh. The festival will come to an end with the award giving ceremony and mime show on April 19.
It is mentioning that holding the slogan titled “Na Bola Kotha Gulo Na Bolei Hok Bola”, DUMA started its journey in February 27, 2011. DU student Mir Lokman is the founding President of the organization.
