The day long first international conference styled as ‘Current Literary Theories and Jibanananda Das’ was held on Thursday at Jibanananda Das Conference Complex of Barishal University.
Prof Dr Muhammad Muhsin Uddin, Director Jibanananda Research Centre, Dean of Arts Faculty, presided over the first session and it was attended by Dr A K M Mahbub Hasan, Acting VC of BU as Chief Guest. Prof. (Retd) Dr Fakrul Alam, Department of English at Dhaka University, was guest of honour .
After tea break Prof (Retd) Dr Fakrul Alam , presided over this session and K. Ahmed Alam, Kazi Ashraf Uddin, Md Imran Hossain presented their papers styled as ‘Looking at Jibanananda Das’s Poem ‘Ah, Kite( Hay Chil) Through a Formalist Lens, Locating the Sublime and the Real in Jibanananda Das’s Poetry, Treatment of Nature in Jibanananda Das’s Selected Poems : An Ecocritical Study.
The second Bangla session was presided over by Dr. Md. Rezaul Islam (Shamim Reza), Director Bangabondhu Institute of Comparative Literature and Culture at Jahangirnagor University.
