The 1st Division Volleyball League will begin today (Tuesday) at the volleyball stadium in the city.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Sri Biren Sikder, MP, will inaugurate the meet as the chief guest at 10 am.
Organized by Bangladesh volleyball federation, a total of nine teams– Bangladesh Jail, East & Club, Nabajagoroni Sangha, Uttara Sporting Club, Madertek Mitali Sangha, Shahbagh Sporting Club, Swabolombi Society Club, Bhai Bhai Sangha and Sonali Bank Recreation Club– are taking part in the meet.
The bottom-ranked team of the league will be relegated in the next year’s second division league.
In this regard, a press conference was held on Monday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium to give all the details of the meet.
