The first Division Rugby League inaugurated on Saturday at MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong, said a press release.
Chittagong city mayor and Chittagong District Sports Association (CDSA) general secretary AJM Nasir Uddin formally inaugurated the league as the chief guest, organized by CDSA.
Bangladesh Rugby Federation (BRF) president Abdullah Al Jahir Swapan and BRF vice president Barrister Anis Uz Zaman were present as special guests at the inauguration ceremony.
On the day’s inaugural matches of the league, Brothers Union Club beat Shatadal Club (junior) by 36-7 points, Agrani Sangha defeated Young Star Blues by 14-6 points, Chittagong Port Authority Sports Samity (white) outclassed Chittagong Sports and Cultural Sangha by 20-05 points and Mohammedan Sporting Club overpowered Bangladesh Railway Rangers by 30-8 points.
