Daffodil International University Cultural Club is going to organise ‘Youth Fiesta’ the 1st DIU Inter University Cultural Festival 2017′ on January 27 at the Auditorium of the university at permanent campus at Ashulia in Savar. Eleven public and private universities are participating in the festival. The Universities are: 1) University of Dhaka 2) Jahangirnagar University 3) Comilla University 4) North South University 5) BRAC University 6) American International University Bangladesh 7) Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology 8) University of Liberal Arts 9) Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), 10) Ibrahim Medical College and host 11) Daffodil International University.
Professor Dr M Golam Rahman, Chief Information Commissioner of Bangladesh government will inaugurate the fiesta as the chief guest while popular baul singer Kiron Chandra Roy will grace the occasion as the special guest. All these were informed at a ‘Meet the Press’ held yesterday at the Conference Room of the university.
Presided over by Anuj Kumar Chakrabarty, Convener of DIU Cultural Club, the Meet the Press was addressed by Syed Mizanur Rahman Raju, Director (Student Affairs), Mahbub Parvez, Head, Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management & Adviser, DIU Cultural Club, Masud Ibne Rahman, Associate Professor & Adviser, DIU Cultural Club, Md Anowar Habib Kazal, Senior Assistant Director (PR), Daffodil International University and Nafiza Rahman, President, DIU Cultural Club.
It was also informed at the ‘Meet the Press’ that among the participating universities one university will be awarded as Best Performance Award for their outstanding performance judged by the judges panel. The judge’s panel includes Shafayat Monssor Rana (Actor, Director), Nafeez Al-Ameen (Drummer Arbovirus) and Wasek Muttakim (Dance Director).
