1st day of HSC exams passes off peacefully

The first day of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination under Chittagong Education Board (CEB) passed off peacefully yesterday.
Board source said on the first day, a total of 82293 students out of 83,193 participated in the examination from 238 colleges through 98 centers. One student was expelled from the examination for adopting unfair means in the exam from Khagrachari center.
A total of 50 vigilance teams consisting of teachers and magistrates visited different centers. CEB controller, Mahbub Hasan told that the first day of examination passed peacefully and free from unfair means as the authorities took effective measures to maintain the recent year’s trend of peaceful examination.
Meanwhile Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong Md. Shamsul Arefin and the Chairman of CEB Prof. Shaheda Islam visited Enayetbazar Mohila college and Govt City college centre respectively .District administration sources said Upazila Nirbahi officer, Assistance Commissioner of Land( Executive Magistrate) along with additional law enforcing forces have been deployed in the respective upazila based exam centres. Sources said total of 32,324 students are appearing in 30 centres in the city . sources further said exam is being held in 67 centres of the 5 districts under CEB.
