The 1st Walton Beach Taekwondo competition begins today at Cox’s Bazar sea beach in Cox Bazar.
Near about 300 boys and girls from different associations, districts, and schools from across the country will take part in the two-day meet, sponsored by Walton Group and organised by Bangladesh Taekwondo Federation (BTF).
The competition will be held in both man’s and women’s junior section. The men’s weight categories are U-58 kg, U-68 kg, U-78 kg and above 78 + kg while women’s weight categories are U-49 kg, U-57 kg, U-63 kg and 63+ kg.
Besides, in the both men’s and women’s section, singles, doubles and team event will be held in poomsae category.
BTF general secretary Mahmudul Islam Rana said for the first time they are going to organise the beach taekwondo.
He also praised Walton Group for sponsoring the competition and hoped Walton would extend their support in future events.
