Country’s Information Communication Technology (ICT) sector progressed tremendously in last one decade. Only in this sector, 10 lakh job opportunities created during this tenure and by 2021 this number will be 20 lakh.
The government is keen to develop the sector, besides creating infrastructure development, Under the ‘Info-Sarker Project 3’ the government is making skilled manpower. This project will help to create six lakh skilled manpower and by 2021 the number will reach to 20 lakh.
State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak made this comment as chief guest while inaugurating the three days ’15th BASIS SoftExpo-2019′ organized by Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) at International Convention City Bashundhara in the capital on Tuesday.
The slogan for this year’s SoftExpo is ‘Technology for Prosperity’. ICT Division is partnering with BASIS to hold this event. Besides, Leveraging ICT for Growth, Employment and Governance Project (LICT) and Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) are Zone Partners of Industry 4.0 Zone and Experience Zone.
He said, expansion of this SoftExpo indicates how much the sector development over past one years. Like developed countries now we are using apps, drone technology to organize international standard events.
