The 19th edition of two- tier Walton National Cricket League (NCL) will kick off simultaneously at five venues of the country on Friday.
Khulna, Dhaka, Barisal and Rangpur division teams will play in Tier 1 while Dhaka Metropolis, Rajshahi, Sylhet and Chittagong in the Tier 2 league of the four-day match list-A cricket.
Placing bottom in the Tier 1 of the last edition, Dhaka Metropolis were relegated to Tier 2 while Rangpur advanced to Tier 1 as the topper of the Tier 2.
All the venues are: Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong, Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar, Sheikh Abu Naser Stadim in Khulna, Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi and Sylhet International cricket Stadium in Stadium.
Chairman of the Cricket Operations Committee of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Akram Khan disclosed the details in a press conference in Mirpur on Monday.
Sponsor organization Walton group Operative Director Uday Hakim and Executive Director (Policy, HRM and Admin) S M Zahid Hasan also present in the occasion.
Hakim expressed his gratitude to BCB as the board has given opportunity to sponsor this longer version league where national cricketers are groomed, and to Walton for sponsoring the event for 7th successive time, as they will for the next two years.
