An abandoned Tank, which was used by the allied force during the war of liberation in 1971, was recovered from Karatoa River adjacent of Kachdaho Dr Wazed Miah Bridge in Pirganj upazila early Saturday.
During the Liberation War in 1971, some tanks from India entered Bangladesh through Hili border in Dinajpur’s Hakimpur upazila, said Abdus Sattar, commander of Pirganj Muktijodha Sangsad.
One of those got stuck in quicksand near Kachdaho ghat when they were crossing the river. Later, it was declared abandoned after being failed to recover it, he added.
