196 books arrive on Friday

MM Jasim :Ten new books were unveiled on the Nazrul Manch of Bangla Academy premises on Friday, the 14th day of the Amar Ekushey Book Fair. These were Abar Kobe Dekha Hobe by Mir Taruqul Islam Sajib, Dhadhar Galpa by Advocate Nurul Islam Chowdhury, Rashid Gitika by Golam Mostafa, Ananyar Chomak by Sabita Sarker, Adunik Sob Ranna by Jinat Najia, Ashpara Bridha Gas by Akhter Islam, Apur Cricket Ekjan Drupadi by Chandan Pal, Sobar Maje Ekla Eka by Khan Mehedi Mizan, Kanna Jhora Hasi by Maruf Hasan and Anante Somogre Ahmed Manir. However, in total 196 new books arrived at the book fair on Saturday, the 14th day of the fair. Of them, 34 story books, 45 novels, 12 articles, 45 pomes, three on research, eight children books, seven biography, two on Liberation War, four drama, three on science, two on history, two on politics, six on romantic books, one on religion, one dictionary, one science fiction and 17 on other subjects. Publishing houses on Tuesday claimed that they did brisk business as thousands of visitors crowded the Amar Ekushey Book Fair on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. Several houses said that they made the highest business on the day since the fair had started on February 1. ‘Our sales are highest today (Tuesday),’ said Mozammel Haque Shishir of Anya Prakash.
