Chattogram Bureau :
A total of 19 candidates out of 167 has withdrawn their candidatures on the last day of withdrawal from the upcoming 11th parliamentary polls, scheduled to be held on Dec 30.According to returning officers office sources said nine aspirant candidates have withdrawn their nomination papers from six constituencies in Chattogram city while 10 others have withdrawn their candidatures from 10 constituencies of the district.
Among the 19, six candidates from BNP, two from LDP, two from JSD, two from Islamic front Bangladesh, each from Bangladesh workers party, Bikolphodhara Bangladesh, one from JP, one from National Awami Party, one independent candidate have withdrawn their nomination papers ,
At present, a total of 148 candidates from different parties will contest in 16 constituencies including Chattogram city and district in the upcoming poll. The candidatures so far withdrawn include Kamaluddin Ahmed of BNP, Majharul Hoque shah of Bikalpadhara, Abul Bashar Musa of Islami Front, Jainul Abedin , Independent and Sakila Farzana of BNP, Abu Ahmed BNP,Shaukat ali Islami Front, Ahmed Reza Khurshida JP, Ali Newza NAP, Abu Hanif Workers Party, Anisur Rahman & Shahjahan chowdhury as Independent. In city constituencies of Ctg, Md.Jasimuddin JSD, Sahiduddin JSD, Nadia Akhter of LDP,Mostafizur Rahman BNP, Kafil uddin Chowdhury,Sukomoy Chowdhury JSD and Md. Mohiuddin Independent.
