Staff Reporter :At least 19 vehicles, including 11 passenger buses, were torched and more than 37 other transports were vandalized on the 2nd-day of 72-hour hartal amid the BNP-led alliance’s countrywide blockade on Monday.About 80 people received injuries, of them 18 were burnt, when miscreants hurled petrol bombs and cocktails targeting vehicles and trains in the city and elsewhere of the country. In the capital, at least seven persons were injured when getting down from a bus of Turag Paribahan that was torched by miscreants at Middle Badda in the afternoon. The injured were admitted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).At Gulistan, a passengr bus of ETC Paribahan was torched in front of the Maulana Bhashani Stadium in the morning. Another passenger bus was torched in Mirpur area at night. Meanwhile, at least three people were injured as miscreants hurled crude bomb at a passenger bus on the Saath Moshjid Road in Mohammadpur. At least two cocktails were blasted in front of Foreign Ministry at noon. On the other hand, two cocktails were blasted on the Dhaka University campus in the afternoon that left a man injured.Miscreants blasted four cocktails in front of the Dhaka National Medical College on the Johnson Road in the evening.At least three cocktails were recovered in front of the National Press Club in the afternoon. Meanwhile, Two cocktails were blasted near Malibagh Chowdhury Para in the morning. At Kakrail, at least three cocktails were exploded in front of the Rajmoni Cinama Hall in the afternoon. At least two cocktails were exploded in front of the Gulshan Kitchen Market in the afternoon.In Gazipur, a passenger bus was torched at Gazipur Chowrasta intersection around 1:30pm and another bus was set on fire by unidentified miscreants at Chandra intersection in the afternoon.In Narayanganj, at least 10 people received burn injuries when miscreants set ablaze two compartments of a train at the station on Sunday night.In Sylhet, at least four persons, including two siblings, were injured in crude bomb blasts hurled by miscreants at a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Sylhet city.In Rangpur, at least four people were injured when miscreants exploded bombs into the City Super Market in the evening. In Bogra, at least five vehicles, including two passenger buses, were torched in the district in the last twenty hours. In Lakkhipur, at least four vehicles were torched in Chandra Police Station in the district.In Chittagong, a passenger bus was torched in front of Bahaddarhat Police Outpost in the city at night. In Noakhali, at least five vehicles were vandalized at Samir Munsirhat in Senbag upazila in the afternoon. In Kishoreganj, at least four cocktails were exploded in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in the afternoon, said our district correspondent. In Magura, miscreants vandalized at least two vehicles at noon.In Jhenaidah, miscreants hurled two crude bombs in front of Judges’ houses on the Maulana Bhashani Sarak in the evening.In Barisal, at least two persons received injuries in a bomb blast at Natullabad at night.
