Staff Reporter :Police in a drive seized 19 micro buses in the city’s Hatirjheel area on Tuesday morning as there were reportedly no valid papers, including route permission.The members of law enforcing agencies have filed separate cases against the vehicles, police official said. A team of police led by Md Abu Yousuf, Senior Assistant Police Commissioner of Tejgaon Industrial Zone under Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), conducted a drive against the illegal movement of vehicles from the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) intersection to the Hatirjheel at about 10:00am and seized the cars. Abu Yousuf said that they check the drive as part of the regular raid against illegal cars in the city.The drive will be continued to check the plying of such vehicles in the city, he said. At least 49 micro buses were seized at the Tejgaon Industrial Zone in August, the police official said. They also filed over 100 cases against micro buses in last month.
