19 killed in road accidents

At least 19 people were killed and more than 30 others injured in separate road accidents in Gaibandha and six other districts on Saturday.
The injured were admitted to different hospitals and clinics immediately after the incidents, police said.
In Gaibandha, at least 11 people were killed and 10 others injured in two separate road accidents in Palashbari upazila of Gaibandha district.
A Rangpur-bound truck loaded with rod and cement turned turtle in Jundaha area in the afternoon when the driver lost control over the steering, leaving eight people dead on the spot, our Gaibandha Correspondent reports quoting Mahmudul Huq, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Polashbari Police Station.
Of the deceased, three were identified as Koshru, 50, Zakir, 25, and Raju, 26, all day-labourers.
In another incident, three day-labourers were also killed when a bus rammed into a three wheeler, locally
 know as Bhotbhoti, carrying 25 day labourers in South Bus Stand area of the district around 9:30am, police said.
The deceased were identified as Jakir Hossain, 25, Khashru Miah, 50, and Razu Miah, 24, all inhabitants of Gabindaganj upazila. The injured were admitted to Palashbari Upazila Health Complex. Of them, five were referred to Rangpur Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
In Jessore, two cousins were crushed under the wheels of a truck in Sharsha upazila on Saturday morning.
The deceased are Fatima Khatun and her cousin Jerin, said Navaron highway police SI Politon Miah.
In Comilla, two persons were killed in a road accident on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway at Gouripu in Daudkandi upazila under the district in the morning. They are Imon Sardar, 20, and Roni Mia, 23.
In Sunamganj, a man was killed when a private car hit him in the Sadar upazila in the morning. The decease was identified as Motia Rahman.
In Cox’s Bazar, a bus driver was killed in a head on collision between a passenger bus and a Magic vehicle at Gayamara in Chakria upazila of Cox’s Bazar district in the morning. The decease was identified as Abu Taher, 38. In Rajbari, a man was crushed under a truck at Dhallabari in Goyalonda upazila in the district. He was identified as shipan Mia, 38. In Natore, a driver was killed in a head-on collision on the Natore-Bogra highway near the district town early Saturday. The victim was identified as Hasan Molla, 36, from Kushtia.
