At least 19 people were injured in a clash between two groups of villagers at Sarole village in Lohagara upazila on Saturday night.
Police said two groups of villagers-one led by Alam and the other led by Khokan-had been at loggerheads over establishing dominance in the area.
As a sequel to the enmity, supporters of the two groups engaged in a clash in the night equipped with local weapons, leaving at least 19 people of both groups injured.
The injured were admitted to Lohagara Upazila Health Complex, said sub-inspector Prabir Das of Lohagara Police Station, adding that additional policemen have been deployed in the area to ward off further trouble.
