Police seized 700 bottles of contraband Indian phensidy syrup from a coal laden truck in Atapara area under Panchbibi Upazila of the district on Sunday.
A team of Panchbibi Police intercepted the Dhaka bound truck coming from Hili Land Port on Hili-Panchbibi Road and recovered the banned drug.
The police arrested truck driver Feroz Hossain for carrying the drug.
The police also seized the truck and filed a case in this regard with Panchbibi Police station.
Chapainawabganj Correspondent reports: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested an alleged drug peddler in possession of 980 bottles of Indian Phensidyl syrup from Chamagram area in Shibganj upazila early Monday.
The arrestee was identified as Golap Hossain, 36, son of Abdul Mannan, a resident of the same village.
Major Kamruzzaman Pavel, commanding officer of Chapainawabganj Rab-5 said on a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a drive at Golap’s house in the area and recovered 980 bottles of Indian Phensidyl syrup aroundout 5:30 am.
Later, they arrested Golap Hossain in this connection.
A case was filed.
BSS from Benapole (Jessore) reports : Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested a young man in possession of 200 pieces of Yaba tablets from Bhaberber village on Sunday night.
The arrested was identified as Musa Mahmud, 35, son of Ahed Ali Sarkar, a resident of the same village.
Major Ashraf Uddin, commanding officer of Jessore Rab-6, said on a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a drive at Musa’s house in the area and arrested him at night.
They also recovered 200 pieces of Yaba tablets from the house.
The arrested was handed over to Benapole Port Police Station.
