Eighteen villages of Parashuram upazila in the district of Feni have been flooded after collapse parts of the embankment on the rivers of Muhuri, Kahua and Silonia.
Consequently, around 1500 people of 420 families have been marooned and fish and poultry firms and seed beds of Aman paddy washed out.
UNO of the upazila Ruhul Amin confirmed the information.
He said that affected people will sustain a loss of Tk 2.50 crore(approximately).
Sources said, embankment on the Muhuri river
collapsed at Mirza Nagar, Chithalia and Baksha Mahmud union.
Besides, the embankment on the Kahua river was over flooded in the Dublachand area of the municipality. As a result, Khondkia, Dublachand, Baurpathar and Baurkhuma villages went under water. Monipur and Kalikrishna villages were also inundated.
