Some 18 persons have submitted nomination papers for up-coming Zila Parishad (District Council) Chairman polls, four Chairmen including those of Sylhet, Sunamgonj, Moulvibazar and Habigonj District Councils. Besides, 484 general and reserved quata members submitted their nomination papers for 60 member posts. In Sylhet, incumbent Chairman and Awami League District Acting President Lutfur Rahman Advocate and other 17 aspirants submitted their nomination papers for the posts of Sylhet Zila Parishad Chairman.
In Habigonj incumbent Chairman and AL District General Secretary Mushfiq Hussain Chowdhury and other three submitted nomination for Habigonj District Council Chairman.
In Sunamgonj four persons including incumbent Chairman Barister M. Enamul Kabir Imon and three others submitted their nomination papers for Zila Parishad Chairman posts.
In Moulvibazar former MP and Freedom Fighter and incumbent Chairman Azizur Rahman and five others submitted their nomination papers for the Chairman post.
