The construction work of 18 RCC bridges on rural roads in six upazilas of the district are going on in full swing at a cost of Taka 4, 09, 63, 863.
Department of Disaster Management is implementing the projects to improve the rural roads and for making the communication easier in the upazilas. The lengths of the bridges are between 20 to 40 feet.
According to official sources, five bridges are being constructed at different places of Narsingdi Sadar Upazila at a cost of Taka 1,17,40,440, three bridges at Shibpur Upazila at a cost of Taka 66,10.804, three bridges at Belabo Upazila at a cost of Taka 68, 26, 345, two bridges at Palash upazila at a cost of Taka 40, 23, 588, two bridges at Monohardi Upazila at a cost of Taka 45, 92, 010 and three bridges at Raipura upazila at a cost of Taka 71, 70, 676. Officials of the Department of Disaster Management said the project work will be completed by next June.
