Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained 18 Rohingya people in Hijaldi border area in Kolaroa upazila early Friday.
Omar Faruk, company commander of BGB Hijaldi BOP camp, said that a team of BGB detained them when they were trying to enter Bangladesh territory through Indian border.
The BGB official said that the Rohingya people intruded into India first amid persecution in Myanmar and later the members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) pushed them to Bangladesh through the border.
