About 18 more persons were killed and 40 others critically injured in separate road crashes across the country on Sunday.
In Chattogram, at least four persons were killed and 10 others seriously injured when a bus of Soudia Paribahan collided with a microbus in Bhaiyer Dighir Paar area under Patiya upazila on the Chattogram-CoxsBazar Highway around 8am on Sunday.
Two of the deceased were identified as Sakib, 22, the microbus driver and Anwar. Casualties were taken to Chittagong
Medical College Hospital (CMCH). Md Sohag, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Patiya Police Station confirmed the matter to media.
Three persons died on the spot and another one succumbed to injuries after being taken to hospital, said the ASI.
In Cumilla, at least two persons were killed and four others injured following a head-on collision between an auto rickshaw and a covered van in Monohorgonj upazila of the district on Sunday noon.
The accident happened at Khila Dakshin Bazar on the Cumilla-Noakhali Highway.
The deceased were identified as Sirajul Islam, 70, from Saikchail village under Monohorgonj upazila, and Riad, 20, from Saraspur village.
Shafayet Ullah, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Lalmai Highway Police Outpost in-charge told media.
In Tangail, at least three including a women were killed in separate road crashes of the district on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Hazrat Ali,75, Hridoy Miah,14, identity of the female couldn’t be known yet.
Md Mukul, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Bashtoil Police out post told the news media.
In Gazipur, two including driver and helper of a truck were killed when the vehicle collided with a covered-van on Narayanganj-Tangail Highway in Kaliganj upazila of the district on Saturday night.
The deceased couldn’t be identified immediately.

One deceased was identified as Shown Hossain,19, from Dohar. Naojore Highway Police Outpost Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ohiduzzaman told the matter to media.
In Sirajganj, one person named Ripon Kumar, 45, died when a train rammed him in Ullapara of the district on Sunday.
Harun Mojumdar, Officer in-Charge (OC) of district Railway told the news media.
In Madaripur, a motorcyclist named Gurdeb Sarker, 45, was killed when a pickup hit him at Mustafapur under Sadar Upazila of the district.

In Lalmonirhat, a van driver named Chand Miah,40, was killed when a truck hit him in Burhimari upazila of the district on Sunday.
In Bogura, a bus helper was killed and 20 others seriously injured when another bus rammed the vehicle in Sherpur upazila of the district.
