11th National Parliamentary election: 18 contesting MP candidates lost security money in 4 Bagerhat constituencies

A total of 22 candidates contested in the 11th Parliamentary Election held on December 30 in 2018 from 4 constituencies of Bagerhat district. But excepting 4 Awami League candidates the rest all other 18 opponent candidates lost their security as they failed to capture 12.5 per cent of total votes cast, it was learnt from the office of the Returning Officer and DC, Bagerhat.
Those candidates who lost their secuirity (money) are: Bagerhat Constituency (Mollahat, fakirhat and Chitalmary Upazilas)-1: Shaikh Masud Rana (BNP), Md. Liakat Hossain Shaikh (Islami Andolon) and Md. Shamsul Haq (Muslim League), Bagerhat Constituency (Bagerhat Sadar and Kachua Upazilas) -2: M A Salam (BNP), Md. Abdul Awal (Islami Andolon), Khan Amirul Isam (Jaker Party), Khan Ariful Islam (Independent), S M Azmal Hossain ( Independent) and Rezaur Rahman Mantu (Independent), Bagerhat Constituency (Rampal and Mongla Upzilas)-3: Md. Abdul Wadud Shaikh (Oikyafront and Jamat), Mawlana Shah Jalal Siraji (ISlami Andolon), Md. Rezaul Shaikh (Zaker Party) and Md. Sekendar Moni (Jatiya Party) and Bagerhat (Morrelganj and Sharankhola Upazilas) Constituency-4: Md. Abdul Alim (Oikyfront and Jamat), Md. Abdul Majid Hawladar (Islami Andolon), Somnath De (Jatiya Party), Md. Riadul Islam (Indedpendent) and Sharifuzzaman Talukdar (CPB). Awami League nominated candidates who won in the election are Shaikh Helal Uddin (Bagerhat-1), Shaikh Sarhan Naser Tonmoy (Bagerhat-2), Habibun-Nahar (Bagerhat-3) and Dr. Mozammel Hossain (Bagerhat-4).
