A total of 18 sacrificial cattle markets including four permanent markets set up in the metropolitan area of Chittagong ahead of Eidul Azha.
City Corporation allotted this temporary cattle markets with open competitive tenders . With a view to security to the cattle traders and buyers, CMP police installed CC cameras in these markets and the mobile police teams will work in these cattle markets. Meanwhile District Livestock Department formed medical teams to extend medicare service to the animals . District Livestock offier Abdul Hai told that 18 livestock medical teams will be deployed in city and its surrounding upazila areas. Sources said screening machine to detect the fake note was set up in these cattle markets to identify the notes.
Cattle fattening tablets seized, 6 shops fined : A mobile court of Chittagong district administration yesterday seized huge quantities of contraband food supplements and cattle fattening tablets from different pharmacies and fined six pharmacies at city’s Bahaddarhat area. Deputy Revenue Collector and Executive Magistrate of Chittagong District Administration Mohammad Ruhul Amin led the mobile court at Hoque Market of Bahaddarhat area and fined six pharmacies a total of TK one lakh five thousand for selling contraband food supplements and cattle fattening tablets.
