18 BNP- Jamaat activists arrested in Jashore

Police arrested 18 leaders and activists of Bangladesh Nationalist Party and its ally Jamaat-e- Islami on charge of `sabotages’ from Keshabpur and Chaugachha upazila in Jashore on Tuesday night and Wednesday noon.
Mohammad Shahin, officer in-charge, Keshabpur police station and sub inspector SM Akikul Islam of Chaugachha police station confirmed.
Of them, 11 activists and leaders of the opposition parties including Abjal Hossain Babu, councilor, Keshabpur Municipality were arrested from Keshabpur upazila while 7 leaders and activists of the two political parties including Anisur Rahman, councilor, ward number 1, Chaugachha Municipality.
Councilor Babu was detained from Keshabpur Municipality complex on Wednesday noon.
They were produced before Jashore courts on Wednesday, said the police.
Syed Saberul Haque Sabu, general secretary, Jashore district unit BNP said the opposition party men were detained in false cases.
