More than eighteen applicants vie for total 1,350 seats in 20 subjects under six faculties of Barisal University, the only general public university in the division and 33rd among the 37th public university in the country.
A total 24,391 applicants could participate in sixth intake test under three units for 20 subjects of six faculties.
Coastal Studies with Disaster Management and Philosophy added with previous 18 subjects this year.
There would be no test for “Gha’ unit, but selected student could change their subject by giving extra fees.
BU VC Prof Dr S M Imamul Huq in a press conference held at BU campus on Thursday disclosing these facts told that the test would be held simultaneously at 6 centers including BU campus and other 5 colleges.
As per pre-announced schedule intake-test under three units would be held at 10:00-11:00 AM for 4,407 applicants of ‘Kha’ and at 3:00-4:00 for 5,802 applicants of ‘Ga’ unit on November 18.
Rest 14, 182 applicants of ‘Ka’ unit will participate at the test at 11:00-12:30 AM on November 19 Saturday.
Two mobile teams would be engaged in vigilance-duty and result would be published within November 21, BU VC added.
Md. Faysal Mahmud Rumi, public relations officer of BU, informed that the date of taking application through SMS on Teletalk mobile SIM for participation in intake test ended on October 30.
The 1, 350 seats of 20 subjects under 6 faculties of the university included English, Bangla, Philosophy departments under Humanities faculty , Economics, Sociology, Public Administration, Political Science, departments under Social Science faculty, Marketing , Management , Accounting and Information System, Finance , Banking departments under Business Faculty, Mathematics and Physics under Science and Engineering Faculty, Geology and Mining, Soil and Environmental Science, Botany and Crop Science, Coastal Studies and Disaster Management, under Bio Science and Agriculture Faculty, Law Department under Law Faculty .
