The 17th Waz and Doa Mahfil has been held in different places of the upazila in the past few days to seek forgiveness for the deceased. It was organized by the ‘Late Sentumia Memorial Foundation’ in Kapasia’s Maishon village in Gazipur. The doa mahfil was held at the local Motion Union High School ground of the upazila on Monday, February 8.
Upazila Parishad Chairman and District Awami League Vice-President Advocate Md Amanat Hossain Khan presided over the function. Md. Sumon Mia, proprietor of Xian Plastic Company, was present as the chief guest at the waz and doa mahfil conducted by Hafizul Haque Chowdhury Ayub, chairman of the organization and former BCL leader.
Advocate Md. Ruhul Amin Tuhin, Organizing Secretary of Dhaka Supreme Court Awami Bar Council was present as the inaugural speaker. Rakibul Islam Chowdhury Emon Mia, general secretary of the Eid Gah ground management committee of Uttar Kham in Arj Gujar, Gazipur District Council members Waz Uddin Mollah, Khairul Islam, Ilias Mollah and Habibur Rahman Habib were the patrons of the gathering. Special guests were Amjad Hossain and Asaduzzaman Emon, directors of the late Abdul Mannan Memorial Foundation.
