A17-kilometer long tailback was created on Dhaka-Rangpur highway from Koddar Mor to Hatikumrul Circle in Sirajganj district Wednesday morning.
The tailback has been originated from the both side of the Nokla bridge due to the dilapidated road condition on the road.
Hundreds of commuters, including patients and children, were facing sufferings following the tailback on the road in the morning.
Hatikumrul Highway Police Traffic Inspector Rafiqul Islam said that the traffic congession was intensified due to dilapidated road condition in the area around 9am.
Meanwhile, The traffic congestion started this morning and it progressed with time, sources of highway police said.
Excessive numbers of vehicles including trucks and buses are moving towards on the roads.
Law enforcers are working to resolve the traffic congestion on the highway.
Earlier, drivers and passengers – especially women and children suffered
as the gruesome traffic jam was reported.
Besides, the passengers and drivers of the long-route vehicles blamed goods and passenger-laden trucks, bus, pickup vans and other modes of local vehicles for the tailback.
