Total 175 students from class three to class seven of different educational institutions got scholarships for their excellent performance in the first Sapnasiri Medha Britty (stipend) examination held on December 27, 2014, in the hill district.
They were handed over crest and certificates at a formal function held at the Khagrachhari town hall auditorium on Saturday noon.
President of the non-government organisation Sapnasiri Bijoy Barua presided over the programme while Khagrachhari Muni-cipality Mayor Mohammad Rafiqul Alam attended the programme as chief guest.
The chief guest highly praised the initiative of Sapnasiri and hoped that the process would continue for the betterment of future generation.
General Secretary of Sapnasiri Kanchan Chowdhury, Headmistress of Khagrachhari Government High School Sreela Talukder, Headmistress of Khagrachhari Government Girl’s High School Bilkis Salam, President of Khagrachhari Press Club Jiten Barua and General Secretary of district corruption prevention committee Advocate Jasim Uddin Majumder spoke, among others.
