Customs Intelligence at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong recovered 173 gold chains weighing 550 grams from a passenger on Tuesday morning.
Doypaion Chakma, assistant director of the Chittagong Customs Intelligence, said they recovered the gold chains from one Al Amin, a passenger of Flydubai flight coming from the UAE, when he was passing through the green channel of the airport around 10 am.
The gold chains stashed in tank packet were smuggled from Dubai, the customs official said.
The market value of the seized gold chains was estimated at Taka 32 lakh, he added.
