171 more Bangladeshis in China to be brought back: Cabinet Secretary

Staff Reporter: About 171 more Bangladeshis would be brought back from China upon clearance from the Chinese government, Cabinet Secretary KhandakerAnwarul Islam said it.
He said that those Bangladeshis want to return home. They will be brought back upon China government’s clearance and the Bangladesh Ambassador in Beijing was informed about the matter.”
The Cabinet Secretary said it to journalists after the weekly Cabinetmeeting held at the Secretariat with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
On Saturday, Bangladesh has brought back 312 of its citizens from coronavirus hit chinese city of Wuhan.Seven of them were sent to Kurmitola General Hospital. While another was sent to Combined Military Hospital (CMH).
After the Cabinet meeting, another special meeting was held in the secretariat on the coronavirus issue. Prime Minister presided over the meeting. A directive was given from the meeting to the authorities concerned to take necessary steps so that coronavirus could not enter Bangladesh, the secretary said.
“We will try to bring them by Chinese flights because the Bangladeshi pilots who went to China last time for bringing the 312 Bangladeshis are not being allowed to enter different countries,” the secretary said.
He also said about higher cautionary measures about chinese nationals.
“If any Chinese national comes to Bangladesh, even via other countries, he will be double checked and will have to stay in quarantine for 15 days,” said Cabinet Secretary.
