Customs of Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport seized 1,700 cartons of contraband foreign cigarettes f rom cargo department of the airport. These cigars were brought from Dubai in a cargo flight of Emirates Airways on Sunday evening.
The approximate market prices of these cigars is about Tk.one crore, customs said. Asstt. Commissioner of customs Md. Selim Reza told that these contraband cigars reached at Ctg airport on Saturday night and these cargos were stored in the cargo godown.
Acting on secret information, customs physically verified the cargos and found these contraband cigars in one consignment. The seized cigars consists of Dunhill, Benson, 3-G, Malboro brands, sources said.
