Members of Border Guard Bangladesh rescued 17 Bangladeshi nationals including five women from Daulatpur border area in Benapole of Jessore district on Sunday night while they were being trafficked to India.
The detainees hail from Khulna, Barisal and Narail district.
Nayeb Subedar Jahangir Hossain of Daulatpur camp of BGB battalion-21 said on secret information a team of the border guards conducted a drive in the area and arrested them.
Later, they were handed over to Benapole Port Police station.
A case was filed in this connection.
