Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) rescued 17 Bangladeshi people while they were being trafficked from India to Bagladesh through Gatipara frontier in Benapole port police station on Friday morning.
Salim Reja , Commanding officer, of 49 BGB, said on secret information, a BGB team raided the Gatipara Border and rescued 11 women 6 men from the border in the morning.
The victims hail from different areas of Jashore and Narail districts.The traffickers, however, managed to flee, sensing the presence of the paramilitary troops.
The BGB men later handed them over to Benapole Port Police Station, said the commanding officer.
A case was filed in this connection.
