Entertainment Report :
Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association election has been slowed down in controversy, since the election was held at BFDC on January 28. 17 film organisations called for continuous strikes demanding the resolution
of their 3-point demands.
Sohanur Rahman Sohan, President of the Board of Film Directors, announced a lifetime ban on Peerzada Harun from films and dramas on behalf of 17 film organisations.
As part of their ongoing protest, the members of the 17 organisations took positions in front of BFDC gate from 9:00am on Sunday. While taking part in the protest, veteran filmmaker Delwar Jahan Jhontu said, “BFDC’s Managing Director has insulted us by not allowing us to enter during the election on January 28. We want her to be removed immediately.”
The film organisations are planning on continuing its strike. Apart from demanding the removal of the Managing Director Nuzhat Yeasmin, they have also demanded not allowing Election Commissioner Pirzada Shahidul Harun in their movies or series and that no elections should be held at BFDC.
