A 17 days old female baby named Sohana was kidnapped from the laps of its parents on November 15 at mid night. This incident took place in the village Gabtala within Morrelganj Sadar Union under Morrelganj Upazila in Bagerhat district. Parents of the kidnapped bay are Suja Khan, a poor fisherman of the village and Shanta Aktar.
It is learnt from the parents that at night the baby was sleeping in between father and mother.
At night the mother fed her baby breast milk more than once. But at 2 am when they woke up, they did not find their baby in the bed. Search was made in the bed room; but no trace of it was found.
Md. Manirul Islam, Officer-in-charge of Morrelganj PS said that, being informed of the matter, police visited the place of occurrence and started to recover the kidnapped baby and arrest the culprits since 4 am.
