UNB, Chittagong :
Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad on Monday bemoaned that Bangladesh was let down across the word due to the 16th constitutional amendment which was ultimately revoked by the apex court.
Talking to reporters at a city hotel, he also voiced deep concern over the growing incidents of rape, violence against women
and children and killing in the country.
“Bangladesh was let down to the world for the 16th amendment to the constitution. I think we’re a very unfortunate (nation) that our constitution has almost been eliminated,” Ershad said.
Ershad came to the port city yesterday to attend the annual general meeting of a private bank and a social programme.
