11th National Parliamentary election: 1,621 polling centres marked important in Sylhet Divn

The election will be held in 2,805 voting centres at four districts of the northeastern division Sylhet.
Law enforcement members have designated over 1,600 polling centres of 19 constituencies in Sylhet division as important ahead of the 11th general election.
The most important polling stations have been identified in Habiganj district.
According to the Election Commission, the December 30 election will be held in 2,805 voting centres at four districts of the northeastern division. Of those, 1,621 centres have been earmarked as important as they are risky and the remaining 1,184 are marked as general centers.
As many as 293 polling centers are within the jurisdiction of Sylhet Metropolitan Police and 202 centres are marked as risky.
In Sylhet district, 323 out of 699 polling stations are identified as risky; in Sunamganj district, out of 668 voting centres, 416 are marked as risky; in Habiganj, 421 out of 633 centres are risky; and 259 out of 512 centres are earmarked as risky in Moulvibazar district.
Law enforcement members have taken up numerous initiatives to ensure security in the risky polling centres. Senior police officials are visiting these polling stations to take necessary measures.
Sylhet Metropolitan Police Additional Commissioner, Paritosh Ghosh, said extensive arrangements have been made to maintain law and order in these important polling stations.
Additional police forces will be deployed as part of the arrangements.
Police will provide the highest security in the important voting centres for voters, said Sylhets Deputy Inspector General Kamrul Ahsan.
