A total of 16,207 posts of the headmasters have been remaining vacant in the government primary schools across the country, Primary and Mass Education Minister Mostafizur Rahman told the Jatiya Sangsad on Thursday.
Replying to a question from Jatiya Party lawmaker AKM Maidul Islam (Kurigram-3), the minister said the number of vacant posts in the old government primary schools is 7,952, while it is 8,255 in the newly nationalized (primary) schools.
Mostafizur said the post of headmaster has been upgraded to class two. “The issue of sending information of vacant posts in the specific graph of the Public Service Commission to appoint headmasters is under process,” he said.
