Bangladesh Coast Guard in a drive seized 160-kg venison, three deer hides and four deer heads from Nisanbaria area in Sadar upazila early yesterday morning.
The Coast Guard team conducted the drive on Bishkhali river of the area at about 3 am and seized the venison and deed hides and heads from a trawler, said Lt Hasanur Rahman, commander of Patharghata station of Coast Guard.
The poachers escaped from the trawler sensing the presence of the coastguards, the commander said.
The venison and hides recovered from the trawler handed over to the local forest department.
