Death procession continues on the streets every day. At least 16 persons including six in Chandpur were killed and 30 others seriously injured in separate road crashes across the country on Sunday.
In Chandpur, at least six people including a women and a minor child were killed when a passenger bus collided heed-on with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on the Chandpur-Cumilla Regional Highway in Shaharasti upazila of the district on Sunday morning.
The accident took placed near the Kakoirtola Bazar area of the upazila around 9am.
The deceased were identified as Ranjit Chandra, 52, Abu Kalam, 62, Jannatul Ferdous, 28, Shahjahan,42 and Ruman, 8.
Local sources said that the five died on the spot when a bus of Cordova Paribahan collided head-on with the auto-rickshaw. But Shahjahan succumbed to injuries on the way to hospital.
Shah Alam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shaharasti Model Police Station confirmed the matter to the media.
In Chuadanga, at least two including a school boy were killed in separate road accidents of the district on Sunday and Saturday night.
The deceased were identified as Shamsul Alam Santi, son of one Asir Uddin from Makhaldanga of Sadar upazila and Redwan Ahmed, son of one Rashed Ahmed from the same area.
Abu Zihad, Officer-in-Charge of Chuyadanga Sadar Police told the news to the media.
In Dhaka, two pedestrians were killed and two others injured when a covered van hit them at Dhalpur area of Jatrabari in the city on Saturday night. The accident occurred around 8pm.
The deceased were identified as Kamal Hossain, 40, a resident of Kadamtali area of Jatrabari and Samia Khatun, 16.
Jatrabari Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Shamsul Alam told the news to the media.
In Gazipur, a helper of a bus named Faruk Hossain, 28, died when the bus hit hard a building in Kaliganj upazila of district on Sunday morning.
Deceased Faruk from Banshbari village under Bancharampur upazila of Brahmanbaria district.
Kaliganj Police Station officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Abu Bakar said the news to the media.
In Feni, a passenger of a auto rickshaw named Khurshid Alam, 45, was killed when a truck hit him in Fulgaji upazila of the district on Sunday morning.
Kotubuddin, Officer-in-Charge of Fulgaji Police Station told the news to the media.
In Naogaon, a staff of Fire Service Station was killed in a road crash when a bike rammed him on the Naogaon-Bogura Highway on Saturday night.
AKM Morshed, Deputy Assistant Director of district Fire Service confirmed the news to the media.
In Natore, a van driver named Badal Miah, 40, was killed when a passenger bus hit him in PTI area of the district town on Sunday.

In Lakshmipur, a madrasa student named Yasin Arafat,8, was killed when a pickup van rammed him just in front of madrasa of Lakshmipur Sadar upazila of the district on Sunday morning.
In Lalmonirhat, a college student named Faridul Islam Saddam,28, was killed when a trolly overturned in Kaliganj upazila of the district on Sunday night.
