A 16-members high level delegation headed by Yan Junqi, vice-chairperson of the standing committee of the National Peoples Congress of China, arrived in the city on Tuesday morning on a three day state visit. Deputy Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad M Fazley Rabbi Mia and Whip Shahiduzzaman Sarker welcomed the delegation at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, said an official release. During their stay in Bangladesh, the delegation would call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. The visiting Chinese delegation is also expected to hold meeting with the parliamentary standing committee on the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs.Chinese envoy in Bangladesh and high officials in the government including secretary of the parliament secretariat M Ashraful Maqbul were also present at the airport.
